Texas

Next stop was Texas where we continued our trend of getting a home-cooked meal by friends/family.  We could get used to this😋

Went to Top Golf and of course I was going to post the final results!

From there, we headed to Fredericksburg, TX. It's a cute little town that was settled by German immigrants. After getting our site set up, we headed to a German restaurant for sausage, sauerkraut, and hot potato salad.

After lunch, we headed to The Peach Haus. I enjoy browsing specialty foods stores and Brett is patient enough to entertain me by going to them. They also had peaceful grounds with live music and picnicking around a small pond.

While driving around the backroads, we came across this Bob's Big Boy statue in someone's front yard, so I had to take a pic.

We also went by Luckenbach. (We had planned on going back the next day to a show, but it ended up being cold, so we skipped.)

We wrapped up the day with wine tasting at Safari winery. This area is loaded with wineries, but his one was a bit different in that they served wines from South Africa, Chile, and Argentina, instead of local Texas wines. We happened to meet the owner and his family and learned about how the winery came about.

The next day was cold. We actually broke out the big coats! We first went to Wildseed Farms to check out the wildflowers.

Then we drove to Kerrville to see the The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden

They have piles of white rocks where you can add a prayer. The walkways are lined with these prayer rocks.

Next stop was Stonehenge II where they not only have a smaller Stonehenge, but two Easter Island statue replicas. There are so many interesting finds when you check out the backroads of America.

Just across the street from the statues was the Guadalupe River. Looks like a great place to spend time on hot days.

We topped off the day with a late lunch and the most delicious carrot cake at The Ridge where they have beautiful grounds and a cute amphitheater in the back.
